Branches on the Conejo
Published in Paperback by Russell Dean & Co (October, 2001)
Author: Anne Schroeder
Average review score:

Solid Branches Support Impressive Family Tree
This year's first place William Saroyan non-fiction winner is a delight. Anne Schroeder chooses every word so carefully that with each sentence the reader is drawn into the story of her family. The opening chapter, Sweet Partings, tenderly and lovingly bids farewell to Nana, the author's grandmother and the book's inspiration. As Schroeder and her family deal with the loss of their much loved matriarch, the reader feels the strength of familial ties and is brought back in time to a less complicated, more idealistic era. I found Branches on the Conejo a very heart warming and inspirational book, a much needed reminder of the value of a supportive, hard working, and loving family.

Motivating Hispanic Employees: A Practical Guide to Understanding and Managing Hispanic Employees
Published in Paperback by Multicultural Press (July, 2001)
Author: Carlos A. Conejo
Average review score:

Motivating Hispanic Employees
During several of your personal anecdotes in the book I could
actually visualize the events. I have never seen a book that lays out such a clear game plan for managers, co-workers, or anyone who wants to relate better and work more effectively with people who are Hispanic.

Teach Your Baby Spanish (Teach Your Baby Series)
Published in Audio Cassette by Holt Concepts (April, 2000)
Authors: Caren Crandall, Ruth Ball, Diana Conejo, and Holt Concepts
Average review score:

Fun Spanish with baby
I ordered this audio cassette so that my 5 month old son and I could learn some Spanish words together. I also wanted to expose him to a foreign language at a young age. We play the cassette in the car and I repeat the words out loud both in the car and around the house. It is a lot of fun and I highly recommend this tape. The tape includes many "baby" related words and phrases that you wouldn't know from Spanish class. It also comes with an insert that has all the words and phrases from the cassette written out. The cassette and insert also offer "teaching tips" on how to help your baby understand the meaning of the Spansih words.
